You will come across steep valleys, mountains, snow, rocks, ice fields, and gorges and the Mayar River will flow alongside. Itinerary
On the first day of the Mount Menthosa Expedition, you will arrive in Delhi. HIM EXPED welcomes you to Incredible India and our representative will help you check into a hotel for an overnight stay. Overnight in the hotel in Delhi
After breakfast, you will drive to Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) for a briefing on the expedition and some paperwork. After that, you will begin the drive to Manali. Throughout the 570 km drive, there will be mesmerising views of the Indian Himalayas. Upon reaching Manali, you will be placed into a hotel booked for you in advance by Kahlur Adventures for the night Overnight in the hotel in Manali Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
This day in Manali is for all leisure activities. You can visit all the tourist spots as Manali is one of the most famous Hill Stations in Himachal Pradesh. You will be provided with all the meals by HIM EXPED. You will stay in Manali for the night. Overnight in the hotel in Manali Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
Before checking out, you will have a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel. After that, you will start on a drive for Urgos and will pass through the Atal tunnel and Udaipur. After you cross the Atul tunnel, you will enter the forbidden land of Lahaul. You will continue the drive to Udaipur. There will be a small halt for lunch in Udaipur. The drive ahead is quite exciting with a variant of landscapes that will keep you glued to the window. Once you reach Urgos, you will be placed in pre-booked homestay or hotel by HIM EXPED. You will have your dinner and retire to your room. Overnight in the camp Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
The day will start with breakfast at the hotel or homestay and then you will start the trek for Base Camp. Your bags and climbing equipment will be handed over to the porters. You will trek on a steep route for about 7 km but the beautiful views of the mountains will keep you motivated. Lunch will be served by HIM EXPED en route and after some rest, you will keep heading to the Base Camp. The last stretch of the trek is really tiresome. You will pitch the tents at the base camp, your abode for the night. Have dinner and retire to your tent. Overnight in the Expedition Tent Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
The days ahead are for ascending from Base Camp to Camp 1 (4,975 M) and then to Camp 2 (5,100 M). You will also get a training session from HIM EXPED trek leader on the proper usage of climbing equipment. You will get proper acclimatization as you gradually keep gaining elevation. You will also be helped by Sherpa to climb ahead as the elevation and weather conditions can be daunting. The summit day will be everything you have hoped for. From the top of Mount Menthosa, you will get 360-degree views of the Mayar Valley. The spectacular view of snow-covered mountains will fill your heart with joy and a sense of accomplishment after successfully summitting Mount Menthosa. After spending some time, you will trace back your path to the campsite. A few days are kept as a buffer in case any unfavorable circumstances arise. Overnight in the Expedition Tent Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
You will have your breakfast in the laps of the mountains of India and then wind up at the Base Camp with the help of HIM EXPED. You will begin the trek to Urgos and have lunch en route. After reaching Urgos, you will drive to Udaipur. In Udaipur, you will check into a hotel for an overnight stay. Overnight in the camp Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
Post breakfast, you will start on the drive to Manali in a vehicle provided by HIM EXPED. Upon reaching Manali, you will be placed in a hotel booked in advance for the night. Overnight in the Hotel Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
You will board a Volvo bus booked in advance by HIM EXPED from Manali to Delhi. The gorgeous landscapes will keep changing as you leave the mountains behind and reach Delhi. On reaching Delhi, you will check in to a hotel and stay overnight. Overnight in the hotel in Delhi Meal: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
This morning, you will head to IMF once again for debriefing and later on, you will be dropped off at the airport. As you are so close to one of the Seven Wonders of the World Taj Mahal, you can take a one day trip to the Taj with HIM EXPED at an additional cost. Agra, home to the Taj Mahal is just 4 hours away from Delhi and you can make a round trip later in the evening, you will be driven to the airport by an evening cab.
